Parish Committees

Pastoral Council

The primary mission of the Pastoral Council is to advise the Pastor on matters of parish policy, planning and other items.  They assist in the process of pastoral planning and the development and updating of the parish pastoral plan by developing goals and objectives and the assignment of priorities.

Finance Council

The Finance Council is involved in the parish’s budgeting process and must approve the annual Parish budget.  The Parish Finance Council is also responsible for overseeing the preparation of the annual financial report to the Bishop (required by Canon 1287) and the publication of an annual Financial Report to the faithful.  The report to the faithful is to be in the Parish bulletin.

Stewardship Committee

The Stewardship Committee oversees the planning of all parish fundraising activities.  They work to avoid conflicting activities, overwhelming appeals or confusing messages regarding stewardship.  In addition, they strive to instill a stewardship philosophy at St. Mary’s Basilica asking parishioners to share their time, talent and treasure.
