Saints Among Us: Faith Formation for Children and Families
How It Works
Instead of a traditional classroom model, Saints Among Us uses a “dinner table” style of formation. Children are placed in small groups of 8–12 peers, guided by one or two dedicated catechists. These groups journey together in faith, fostering deeper relationships and meaningful conversations.
Sacramental preparation and religious education happen together, so every session matters. Regular attendance is essential—what children in other dioceses receive over seven years, your child will receive in just two. Missing classes means missing key moments in this accelerated journey.
Why Two Years?
In many dioceses, sacramental preparation can span seven years. Here in the Diocese of Phoenix, we follow the restored order, meaning children receive Confirmation before First Eucharist. This allows them to experience the fullness of the gifts and graces that come with the Sacraments of Initiation much sooner.
Practically speaking, preparation for Reconciliation, Confirmation, and First Eucharist happens over two years. After that, we strongly encourage ongoing religious education—but because our campus space is limited, we invite families to explore additional formation opportunities at other parishes.
Formation for the Whole Family
We believe children grow best when their parents grow in faith too. That’s why, while children are in class, at least one parent or guardian attends a separate formation session designed for adults.
This approach strengthens your role as the primary teacher of the faith and helps make your home the heart of your child’s spiritual life.
Registration & Cost
The registration fee is $100 per student, per year. This helps cover materials, space, and staffing for a high-quality Catholic formation experience.
