Society of St. Vincent de Paul

Who Are We?

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) St. Mary’s Basilica Conference was Phoenix’s first Conference! Since April 26, 1946, we have continually served our community.  Our members (Vincentians) grow in faith and friendship as we serve our neighbors in need with love and compassion.  We provide financial assistance for rent and utility bills, and our dedicated volunteers deliver monthly food boxes every Saturday…each year totaling about 1200 deliveries, feeding 500 individuals in over 200 separate households. SVdP SMB is one of over 80 conferences within the Phoenix Diocesan Council, which is the largest in the world!  SVdP is dedicated to feeding, clothing, housing, and healing individuals and families. “No act of charity of foreign to The Society.”  Some of the programs include:

• Services for the homeless.

• Charity dining rooms…the main kitchen prepares 7,500 meals/day!
• Food boxes for hungry families.
• Thrift stores throughout the region.
• Transitional housing shelters.
• General assistance for individuals in need.

SVdP provides help – and brings hope – to people with physical, mental, and spiritual needs. By doing this with care and respect, we show others that they matter and are children of God.
